The Last Lecture
We had a leadership dinner and training on Saturday night. Beth and Jesse decided to spend the night and as we got Amira's room ready for them Jesse looked around at the room and asked me if I had ever heard of the Last Lecture. He said the professor who did the Last Lecture said to let kids paint their rooms. He also said the Last Lecture was on Youtube and that I should watch it.
I just finished watching it - this was one of the most powerful messages I have ever heard or seen. EVER. This man was a true Difference Maker and today (the day I became aware of his legacy) the world is a worse place because of his passing away.

Hi Danielle!
I am glad we are on this new regiment with "ADVOCARE"....looks like this product is definitely going in the right direction. Amazing...Thought you would like to see this email! LOVE YA JUDY
AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY ('TRY', BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY.
>
> Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:
>
> 1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.
>
> 2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.
>
> 3 When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.
>
> 4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.
>
> 5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.
>
> 6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.
>
> 7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.
>
> 8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.
>
> 9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.
>
> 10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.
>
> 11.. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.
>
> CANCER CELLS FEED ON:
>
> a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts.. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color.. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.
>
> b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.
>
> c.. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment.. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.
>
> d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).
>
> e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine.. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.
>
> 12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.
>
> 13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.
>
> 14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.
>
> 15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.
>
> 16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.
>
> 1. No plastic containers in micro.
>
> 2. No water bottles in freezer.
>
> 3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

> Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Cast le Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So
> such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.
>
> Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

It's time to get real. Really, seriously, Advocare works.
It's time to get real. This isn't about earning money or protecting your family anymore. It's about feeling hopeless - fight that emotion. Consider the following:
What will you choose? What will you promote? If not Advocare then what? If not now, then when?
With respect and love

Melanie & Stan Gardener - Emerald ($187,987)

It's time to get real. Really, seriously, Advocare works.
- Yes there are challenges
- Yes you need training (even the Starbucks coffee makers need training!)
- Yes there are confusions
- Yes this thing requires consistent work over time
- Yes some people say no
- No there's really no chance of success if you "invent" your own way
It's time to get real. This isn't about earning money or protecting your family anymore. It's about feeling hopeless - fight that emotion. Consider the following:
- Your BEST thinking put you in your current circumstance. Just like Kristi, Melanie and Mike before Advocare.
- We're taught, "...study hard, get a good job and you'll find happiness..." Those rules don't work anymore. Just like Kristi, Melanie and Mike discovered.
What will you choose? What will you promote? If not Advocare then what? If not now, then when?

Extremely important from Joe Hadachek
If you need a laugh today, read this, God was great in the process.
Let me tell you a true story about a girl named Tori. Tori is in the second grade and loves animals. Her future calling may be a veterinarian. She wanted a baby hamster. Her mom (Gloria) and dad (Joe) bought her one and told her on the way home to leave it in the box until we got home. She didn't. Baby hamster, actually a miniature, got loose and ran and hid in between the front driver's side and passenger's side console of vehicle. Hamster will not come out.
Day 1, wife will not drive car due to the fact it "might" run up her leg while driving. Actually that might be good since then we will have accomplished goal of catching it? (Joe thinks this will accomplish goal) She doesn't like the idea. Dad tries every way he can thing of to catch hamster alive with blanket traps, food traps, etc. Nothing works, he sees hamster at times pop head out of console between passenger and driver side but appears only to be teasing us.
Day 2, dad thinks like a rodent. Decides "sticky traps" might be last resort even though this could be terminal. Midnight comes and goes no luck. Dad thinks hamster might be dead in console and now thinks we may a future "dead animal" smell issue to address.
Day 3, dad wakes and goes to garage for the 100th time in the last 48 hours to check on life signs. YES! The hamster is caught in a sticky (glue) trap and it is still alive. Dad attempts to use a variety of kitchen liquids to remove animal (about 2" in length). Nothing works. Animal looks mad and frustrated. Dad decides to read sticky trap box of directions for miracle answer. Ah ha! Mineral spirits will do the trick. Call Glo's bro-in-law to see if he can help. He has some mineral spirits. Joe gets in car and brings back mineral spirits (trying to get this all done before Tori gets out of bed for school). It works! The hamster (Angel) survived with a slight limp (probably dislocated hip) and hair that looks a little scary.
Day 4, we hope Angel makes it this far!

From Mike Ferro
POWERFUL message from Mike - pls read the whole way through - z
********
I received a call last night from one of the first Advisors I worked with in AdvoCare 10 years ago. This person had a dynamic team built, was growing personally, changed the way they looked at people and things, had a new outlook on life, just absolutely made a 180 degree turn. But then a Mate (actually several mates) became the priority, this person lost all focus on what was started and the business slipped.
Our phone call last night lasted 1 hour and it was all about how life has gotten the best of them. Jobs have been lost, relationships have been severed and depression has slipped in. This persons exact words, "If I would have only stuck with AdvoCare, the environment it provides, the people you are around and the products they produce, I know I would not be where I am today, 1000's of lives would have been changed through me, my relationship would be strong, my walk with the Lord would be better than it is now and I would have a totally different outlook on life. I'm lost and have no where to turn."
Why am I sharing this with you? I HEAR THIS A LOT, so do the leaders receiving this. We hear daily, "If I only would have" "I should have" I wish I would have" "Why didn't I"
It really pulls on your heart strings to hear that. I wanted to take it personally, what could have I done to keep this person focused. What could have I done to not let this happen. The reality is, nothing. We kept on having meetings. We still have the environment we created. We continued to grow daily. We kept on changing lives. We continued to do what we set out to do. AdvoCare hasn't changed their guiding principles or their path. God is still a great God. The opportunity is the same actually better, but because they let LIFE get in the way, circumstances changed and now they are digging out of a huge hole, not just financially, that's the least of the issues.
I guess the question to you today is, Is AdvoCare really in you? I mean have you developed the love to help people with their Health and Finances? Have you created that whatever it takes mentality? Have you told everyone you know that AdvoCare is the vehicle you are using to become debt free in the next 1 - 3 years? Do you do 3 Way calls, 2 on 1 meetings and mixers? Have you made the decision to go to Success School in August? I hear all the time, especially yesterday for some reason, "Mike this is easy for you, you have the time freedom and know how to work this business." Can I share with you 10 years ago I made a decision with a definitive YES, here are a few things that could have thrown me off course:
Best friend committing suicide on Easter 4 years ago
Son's Mom trying to commit suicide 3 times, dealing with broken promises daily for 14 years
2 years of court battles for custody, $15,000
Raising my son by myself
Fired from 2 jobs for working AdvoCare
4 friends passing away
Dad's heart attack
4 Deaths in the family
A couple of broken relationships
Not to mention all the adversity of building a new business in a new city when nobody believed you could!
Many conversations and decisions that didn't go my way..... And the list goes on and on. But do you know what I did to get the business off the ground and pay off $85,000 worth of debt, has been my primary source of income for 9 years, that now pays me a full time income with part time effort?
In my 1st 4 years working this business, I earned, saved and found money to go to Success School every 3 months, I moved across town to get away from the Nay Sayers and Dream Stealers who called themselves my friends, I drove to Jacksonville and West Palm every chance I had to learn about AdvoCare, I got on every phone call AdvoCare had, I had mixers every Thursday Night for a year having no clue how to do them, I turned off the T.V., I changed pretty much every thought and aspect of what I thought was right, I developed thick skin and created the mindset that if I say I'm going to do something, it's going to get done. Didn't win a bonus for 5 years. Took me 4 years of doing it wrong enough, long enough before Z and Kim Buttar came on board and were those fireballs I'd been praying for.
Now we have teammates reaching levels in 1/8 the time it took me and winning $3,000 - $6,000 bonus their first 2 weeks in business.
My point, What does it take to be successful in any venture? Focus, direction, good work ethic, goal oriented, self disciplined..... Just like Personal Trainers, there are good trainers, great trainers and exceptional trainers. We can't teach you to be exceptional, you have to develop the disciplines above and work towards them daily.
Here are a few concepts that I learned from being around the AdvoCare environment that help keep me focused, I hope they will help you today:
1. IN ORDER FOR THINGS TO CHANGE, YOU HAVE TO CHANGE THINGS
2. DOESN'T MATTER IF PEOPLE BUY INTO YOUR STORY, WHAT'S IMPORTANT IS THAT YOU DON'T BUY INTO THEIRS
3. SUCCESSFUL PEOPLE DO WHAT THE UNSUCCESSFUL PEOPLE ARE NOT WILLING TO DO
4. PEOPLE DON'T CARE HOW MUCH YOU KNOW, UNTIL THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU CARE
5. INTENT WITHOUT ACTION IS ONLY DAYDREAMING
6. SUCCESS DOESN'T HAPPEN IN A DAY, IT HAPPENS DAILY WITH CONSISTENT EFFORT
6. YOUR WHY (PURPOSE) , DETERMINES HOW MUCH EFFORT YOU PUT INTO SOMETHING
Can I tell you that our WHY has never been stronger. Your teams WHY is about helping those with this opportunity who are ready to make a change in life. Helping those who are ready to lose weight, lose that weight. Helping those who want to get off of Anti-Depressants, get off of Anti-Depressants. Helping those that need $500 a month to save their home, earn $500 a month to save their home. Assisting those who want to take their children out of daycare, to earn enough money to take their children out of daycare.....
I just felt compelled to write this today in hopes that someone may benefit from it. It's our job to help people dream again, give them a plan and help them achieve those results with trainings, mixers and conference calls. Hope to see you here tonight: If you don't live in Orlando, have a mixer, Just Do It!!! Lives will be changed forever.

From Matt Warren
Advocare Leaders,
Want straight talk? OK here you go… (the love is sprinkled in the end J)
The #1 reason people do not move forward in building an Advocare business: AN INABILITY OR UNWILLINGNESS TO MEET WITH PEOPLE.
And it’s usually silly, unfounded beliefs that rob them of helping others… read on to discover the silliness…
Hang with me… let me set the stage and the nuggets are in the end…
- To be successful here, you must have people join your team and/or take your product
- What precedes someone joining your business or taking your products is an appointment
- 5 M’s: More Meetings Mean More Money – it’s true… the more appointments you do the more success you’ll have…
APPOINTMENT (aka “Meeting”): you and your prospect spending set aside, uninterrupted time to find out if they are a fit for Advocare on either a business or product level, with you sharing all levels of involvement, with an invitation for them to join you given that we can provide them a solution
It’s common to see someone stuck in a “meeting reluctance” mode… people doing EVERYTHING BUT quality appointments with quality people…
They’re not scheduling appointments due to:
- not wanting to put forth the time or effort
- fear of rejection
- assuming that their prospects don’t need/want Advocare
- using poor thinking or word choices when trying to schedule an appointment
- thinking that occasional chit chat (at work or in public) with that person will actually lead to something
I can’t help someone not willing to put in the effort or time, but the other issues are false bull crap that we can fix… read on…
Here are some essential beliefs that will POWER you to setting appointments:
- It’s not my job to decide of someone needs Advocare, my job is to give people an opportunity to make an informed decision about Advocare
- Something positive ALWAYS comes out of a meeting, even if it’s a “no”: If someone says “no” to Advocare, then I’ve successfully identified someone who isn’t a fit and I know where they stand
- I am a good, logical, sane person… I was given the opportunity and I eventually said yes, so it only makes sense that I present this to other good, logical, and sane people J
- I have in my hands the power to change and save lives
- If I share our DVD, product samples, 24 Day Challenge Program, Impact Magazine, and business opportunity – the right person will be attracted to that and move forward at some level
- I’m not trying to “sell” anyone… I’m sharing how we can provide a solution for them, and offering the opportunity for partnering with them if they choose to accept that solution
So once you have your head on straight, let’s look at word choices that will help you set appointments:
- “Keith, hey I’m hoping you can set aside a little time for me to come visit you… I’d like to show you what Amber and I do… we operate a business from home that’s based on referrals, and I’d like you to know what we do so that you can send people our way who might be a fit… it may or may not be for you, but I at least want you to know what we do… you got your calendar handy?”
- That was an actual call I made to a guy from our church the other day, I don’t know him that well but I like him and he likes me, so of course he scheduled me and I visit he and his wife tomorrow. I want to partner with people like him, and am fully confident that he’ll partner at some level.
- I didn’t get into a bunch of stuff over the phone – that’s all I needed to say… my goal was to get an appointment… they appointment will allow me to fully share Advocare.
- And when I meet them, I’ll follow the “Business Appointment Flow” on our website: http://www.buildthechampion.com/gpage3.html
CHANCES ARE:
- YOU can meet with more people than you have been.
- YOU have something powerful to share, but your own beliefs have been getting in the way!
- YOU have greater potential to schedule meetings with good people than you think.
- YOU can build a wildly successful business if you employ yourself, and the above principles.
- YOU will become a master appointment setter and presenter.
Growing is fun. If you read this entire email, congrats on being a student! I’m a student too… I’ve been immersed reading Ron Reynolds lately. If this email was helpful to you, I invite you to articulate back to me the top 1 or 2 things you’ll take from it…

From Ruby Bob Ferngren
Many people have started online businesses and tried to succeed in the internet business world In terms of their success, three unique and very different types of people can be identified
Many people have started online businesses and tried to succeed in the internet business world. In terms of their success, three unique and very different types of people can be identified. First is the part-time category. These are the people who are happy with just a little bit of extra income. Next, there are the people who are able to turn their online business into something that earns them a nice, comfortable income, a five-figure income that they are satisfied with and can live on. Finally, there are the people that you hear about all the time who are extremely successful and become millionaires from their online endeavors. They are able to live the life everyone else dreams about because of the money they have earned.
What is the difference between them and what drives these three types of people? What makes one happy with a part-time income, another satisfied with an average income, and another one who will not be satisfied until he or she is enormously successful?
In the first case, the part-timer, it may simply be a lack of motivation. On the other hand, it could be the stage of life they are in. For example, stay at home moms who work online from home have many other responsibilities involving their children that hinder their ability to work full time. Many are happy to earn a part-time income and that is all they need at the present time. At a later stage of life, this same group may have more time to devote to their online business and find themselves achieving a greater income. Sometimes the difference between the first type (part-time) and the second type (average to above-average income) is simply being happy where one is in life.
The difference between the second type and the third type (millionaire type) has been a great puzzle throughout the ages. Many times two people start off the same and much of their business development is the same, but one only achieves a five-figure income and the other goes on to become a multi-millionaire. What makes the difference? You might say luck, and although that does play a roll, something else comes into play which I like to call the satisfaction factor.
One person who builds a business and makes $50,000 a year might have no problems whatsoever with that income. This is because that person might have all their needs met and feel very comfortable and satisfied and not really interested in trying to increase their income further. They just want to enjoy what they have.
However, the person who goes on to eventually become a millionaire is not going to be satisfied with that amount. They want as much money as they can get and instead of spending it on the comfortable lifestyle enjoyed by others, they are driven to continue further in their business development ventures. Instead of spending what they earn, often times they are willing to re-invest that same money to expand the business they have or to invest in another money making venture. They do whatever it takes to get to where they want to be. This kind of person is not satisfied in living the average lifestyle.
Another interesting difference is that a person who has this millionaire mentality has an income figure in their head from the start and they will drive themselves and keep on working until they are making that income figure or more. Do you have an income figure in mind of how much you want to earn? Are you willing to keep going until you achieve that figure? If so, you just might have a millionaire mindset.

Get people to impending events
If you really want people to get on this webinar, you are going to have to make outbound calls, and PROMOTE this webinar. Then, you will send them the invitation to view it so that they have the necessary link and phone number.
Remember, the number one rule in Advocare is...
Get People To The Major Events!
This is a major event, and it will work for you if you work the PROMOTIONAL aspect of it. You will have to put lips to your promotion.
For example, "If I could show you a way to earn an extra $40,000 - $50,000 in income over the next year, would you be willing to listen to me?"
Or... "Could you use an extra $500 per month of income right now?" Well, I have an answer for you!
It will be things like that which will stimulate people to get on this webinar.
Most of all, people will respond to your passion and convictionabout what you are doing. You have the MOST POWERFUL income generating business, or work program, in America today at your disposal. Don't ever be ashamed or afraid to present or promote what you are doing with GREAT STRENGTH.
BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE!
Sunday night will be huge for those of you who take action with this!
The details will be on the invitation link that follows. The subject line will be "$780,000 Up For Grabs!"
You are champions!

From Mike Lenahen - father of Olympic hopeful Chris Lenahen
Dear Friends & Family:
It is with tremendous pride that Debbie and I forward this GREAT NEWS on to you.
Fresh off his 4th Place finish in the USA Weightlifting National Junior Championships last weekend in San Francisco, we were notified that Christopher was selected to the Junior Pan American Team which will travel to South America in the fall. Chris will represent the United States, along with his fellow lifters, in an international competition against teams from North, Central and South America, including Canada and the island nations.
While still celebrating this wonderful honor, we received a written correspondance on Monday that Christopher has been invited to be a Resident Athlete at the United States Olympic Education Center on the Campus of Northern Michigan University. Simply stated, Chris will be one of 6 male and 5 female weightlifters in residence at the OEC where several other Olympic sports house their developmental athletes. He will be designated as a student athlete and will train under one of the top coaches in USA Weightlifting. It is our belief that he will receive a nearly full scholarship through a grant established for developing athletes on the national level.
Chris had already been accepted at Northern Michigan (in the upper peninsula) and recently visited NMU in early March. On Tuesday morning, Chis will accept the invitation for resident status at the United States Olympic Education Center, and then notify the University that he will gladly accept their offer to attend school there. Our family will accelerate our preparations for his departure, as we believe that Chris will be asked to arrive by July 1st to begin summer training.
You may feel free to send Chris a congratulatory email message at notreallikeme@hotmail.com
The wait is over and we are happy that Chris has received his just reward for many years of determination and hard work.
God Bless You All,
Michael & Debbie Lenahen
